Well, the Pittsburg Christmas parade was this past Monday evening, and it was really cold in Pittsburg. I gave the kids the option to go or to stay home, and they chose to stay in the warm house. I figured that if they didn’t want to stand in the cold, then there was no reason for Tyler & I to either. The girls decided that they would rather wait and see Santa in the mall, anyway. I explained that they could do that too, but they still weren’t interested in standing out for the parade. So we stayed home for the evening and had fun decorating our Christmas tree instead. Megan and Kenny Felt came over for dinner as well, and also stayed to help with the festivities – it made for a really nice, enjoyable evening.
On the way home, Rayleigh got into the discussion of how she needed to see Santa, because she has changed her mind that she would like a polka-dot Nintendo DS instead of a red one like she has been hoping for all along. That is not what Santa wants to hear this close to Christmas, as I’m sure that he has had the RED one made for months now (and the polka dot one is not available commercially)!! I sure know that I am really glad that I have encouraged the kids to have an imagination! Tucker spent most of his way home in the car trying to convince the girls that they should just ask Santa for his gifts for him, as he is a little nervous about the big guy in the red suit! He was coaching them, “Don’t forget, I want a guitar, like Daddy’s!” It was priceless.
