All I Want for Christmas in July is . . .

My front tooth! Rayleigh lost her first tooth tonight. We were at a 4th of July party at Evelyn Pistole's house (my boss). Rayleigh took one bite into her hotdog, and, pop, out came the front tooth. She cried a little, but by the end of the evening, couldn't wait to call everyone and let them know that she had lost her first tooth.

By bedtime, it was back to worry time. She was afraid of the tooth-fairy and didn't want to go to sleep, because she was scared of that the tooth-fairy was going to come into her room. We had to write a special letter to the tooth-fairy and explain that we were leaving the tooth on her desk, because we were too scared to have her so close to get under our pillow. Then, after a series of about 100 questions like, "How does she get in here, Mom? And what color is her hair? And does she have a magic wand?", I finally convinced them that it was ok to go to sleep.

They both woke up at 1:00 am crying. I had to show them that the tooth-fairy had already sneaked in to their room and had left money behind. They were finally satisfied that she was nice, and following the series of another 100 questions (at 1:00 am, I will remind you), they finally went back to sleep! Always a challenge, and always dramatic with our girls - never just easy and "normal" like most kids!
Rayleigh is showing off in the picture with Emma, our neighbor, that is the girls' age, who lost here tooth on July 3rd. The girls will all be in the same class when school starts. And to clarify, I don't usually make my children skinny dip (at least a parties with our friends), but we didn't know that there was going to be a little pool there. So, yes, my kids were the only ones swimming in their underwear, but I couldn't see keeping them from the fun, just because I'm not smart enough to think ahead and pack suits! I don't suppose it's too much of a problem, until they are 16 and trying the same trick!!

It doesn't seem possible that Rayleigh and Molly that should be losing teeth. Gosh how time flies! Tell them to have fun at Kindergarten.
